FROM PLANNING TO FIELD EVIDENCE
PLAN
Set site and antenna parameters, run the RF prediction and document the assumptions.
Open Coverage PlannerMEASURE
Capture radio measurements exposed by your Android device during field checks and routes.
View Network Drive TestREPORT
Export planning results as PDF/KML and field measurements using supported Network Drive Test formats.
Two practical workflows for RF planning and field measurement.
Logs signal power, quality and serving cell while you drive, geotags every reading, exports the log when you're back at your desk.
The planner on your phone for a quick estimate in the field. The browser version handles the report.
Common questions about GSM Field Suite
GSM Field Suite provides RF planning and drive-test tools for LTE/5G engineers: Cell Coverage Planner for coverage prediction and client-ready PDF reports, and Network Drive Test for Android field measurements.
Designed for quick field checks, Network Drive Test is not a replacement for full protocol-level drive-test platforms, scanner measurements or specialist acceptance workflows.
No special equipment is required. Coverage Planner runs in a web browser; Network Drive Test uses the cellular information exposed by a compatible Android device.
Network Drive Test displays radio measurements exposed by Android telephony APIs. Available measurements depend on the device, modem, Android version, OEM implementation and network technology.
Network Drive Test can collect available device measurements in the field. Coverage Planner requires a web browser and an internet connection for its mapping and report workflow.
Network Drive Test is free to download and use. The web Coverage Planner has a free plan and a Pro plan at €15/month with PDF and KML report export.
GSM Field Suite is created by Mikaël Cauvez and focuses on practical RF planning and drive-test workflows for telecom field work.
Each product supports a distinct part of the field workflow:
Coverage Planner runs in the browser, while Network Drive Test is designed for compatible Android devices in the field.
Free browser calculators for common field and planning tasks, no install required.

Antennas
Learn the operational and electromagnetic differences between mechanical and electrical antenna tilt, how pattern distortion impacts cell coverage, and how to execute systematic field audits.
Read guideCoverage planning
Antenna height is one of the most critical physical variables in GSM network planning. Learn how effective radiation height impacts propagation models, down-tilt geometries, overshooting cells, and overall C/I performance.
